Technically, any liquid intended for drinking is a beverage so named by a word derived from French and Latin verbs meaning ‘to drink.’ Healthy beverages are beverages with health benefits that attribute by its nutritional value. The use of healthy beverage for promoting health and relieving symptom is as old as the practice of medicine.

Tamarind juice

Usually a juice is obtained from the pulp tamarind fruit and this is then used in cooking, as a souring agent for curries, chutneys, sauces and some deserts and drinks.

Tamarind pulp is enjoyed as a refreshing drink and beverage in most of the Southern and Central American and Asian countries.

Refreshing drink tamarind juice is said to lower body temperature.

In Mexico and Guatemala the dink is carbonated. It has a high content of vitamin B as well as small of vitamin C.

Tamarind fruit is also reported to used as a raw material for the preparation of wine-like beverages.

In Egypt, there is an acidic chilled tamarind drink is popular in summertime In Thailand, the drink is prepared by mixing and blending tamarind pulp with water followed by boiling and the addition of salt and sugar. The resultant is then cooled, strained and served over crushed ice.
