This category is designed to provide healthy benefits beyond the calories they contain and are aimed at reducing the risk of chronic diseases like cancer.

Nutraceutical, a term combining the words ‘nutrition’ and ‘pharmaceutical’ refers to a food or food product including beverages that provides health and medical benefits, including the prevention and treatment of disease.

These beverages can contain vitamin C from citrus, vitamin form fruits or vegetable juices rich in carotene and a mixture of plant extracts that are believed by local consumers to promote good health.

Many nutraceutical have shown promising anticancer results with little or no toxicity cells. The latest focuses in the nutraceutical beverages line include joint health, cancer (antioxidants), heart health, brain health, women’s health and weight management.

The increasing interest in nutraceuticals reflects the fact that consumers hear about epidemiological studies indicating that a specific diet or component of the diet is associated with a lower risk for certain disease.
