Technically, any liquid intended for drinking is a beverage so named by a word derived from French and Latin verbs meaning ‘to drink.’ Healthy beverages are beverages with health benefits that attribute by its nutritional value. The use of healthy beverage for promoting health and relieving symptom is as old as the practice of medicine.

Lassi drink

Lassi is a traditional Indian drink made with yoghurt, ice, a flavoring such as the mint and sometimes with fruit.

Lassi soothing a burning tongue after eating spice dish. Lassi can be ordered salty, sweet or natural. In India, many people drink salty lassi to cool their body during the summer months.

It is more or less has the consistency of a smoothie.

Mango lassi and lassi with almonds and pistachios are available in most restaurants in northern India. 

According to Ayurvedic medicine, lassi can help people to digest food and also prevents bloating and inflammation.

Lassi tends to create mucus, so may not be helpful during cold, cool or damp weather.
