Technically, any liquid intended for drinking is a beverage so named by a word derived from French and Latin verbs meaning ‘to drink.’ Healthy beverages are beverages with health benefits that attribute by its nutritional value. The use of healthy beverage for promoting health and relieving symptom is as old as the practice of medicine.

The Bad Energy Drink

With the amounts of caffeine, natural stimulants such as guarana and ginseng, and numerous chemicals, energy drinks are guaranteed to hype up the people for all night parties, cross country driving and late night cram session.

While energy drinks may be alright for providing quick bursts of energy, they cannot provide for all of your body’s daily energy needs.

The current boom in energy drinks $6 billion industry as kids and adults consumed these highly caffeinated beverages that also contain other stimulants.

A caffeine a central nervous system stimulant, in energy drinks has a direct biochemical effect on the brain. 

Caffeine blocks a naturally occurring brain substance called adenosine, which has a calming influence in the brain.

Energy drinks are not sports drinks. Energy drinks should not be used for hydrating before, during or after exercise because of their potential side effects.

Unlike a traditional sports drink that contains a 4% to 8% carbohydrate concentration, energy drinks exceed the upper end of the limit to values of 12% or higher.
